Every load we make is designed for a specific purpose. Our development team determines the optimum balance of velocity, accuracy, and in some cases even recoil, for each load. Rather than just push “hot loads” that travel faster but generally at the expense of accuracy, HPR® load specific development team carefully analyzes every load and ballisticians work toward a specific outcome. Take, for instance HPR® .380 load vs. .357. The .380 load was developed intentionally “light” in velocity to reduce felt recoil given the trend towards smaller, concealable .380’s that are harder to control. Conversely, you shoot a .357 because you want power. Our .357 load is deliberately stiff on velocity and utilizes a slow burning powder for smoother recoil.
